Spelling & Pronunciation:
Not only Firefly Pix creates beautiful pictures to see, it also shows you the spelling and pronunciation of the subjects inside the pictures in different languages! Currently, Firefly Pix supports English, Spanish and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional).
Easy to use interface:
Six animated buttons at the bottom (portrait mode) or at the right side (landscape mode) of the screen enable you to change the picture, switch between picture mode or spelling mode, read out the subject of the picture and access the settings. Four task buttons on the top (portrait) or at the left side (landscape) give you the access to four different tasks:
-draw on top of the picture formed by the fireflies
-take six different kinds of quiz to practice the vocabularies
-record and listen to your own pronunciation
-quick access to all the pictures.
Settings:
In settings, you can choose which language to use for spelling, switch between manual or automatic mode for fireflies to create the picture or words, switch between random or sequential mode of showing the pictures or words, setting the firefly flying speed.
Enjoy the pictures created by the fireflies and learn the spelling and pronunciation the fun way! Take a quiz or draw a picture! You will like it.
Bonus: Realtime moon phase and clock. There are also shooting stars, satellite and airplane night lights!
Drawing:
When you enter the drawing task, Firefly Pix will use the current screen as the background for drawing. There are two drawing tools: one for drawing strokes and one for adding hundreds of pre-made stamp images. Following picture shows the functions of all the icons in the drawing mode. It also shows the color and line width selections for the stroke tool.
If one choose the stamp tool, the bottom of the screen will change to two sliders for the size and the transparency of the selected stamp. When one change the size or transparency, the final stamp will show at the stamp tool location.
The toggle for the foreground or background drawing is used to indicate whether the new stroke or stamp will be drawing in the background or at the foreground relative to the picture formed by the fireflies as shown in the following picture.
You can use it to do writing practice of the spelling or just have fun creating an art work. Use the snapshot tool to take a snapshot of the screen. It will be saved to the ‘Saved Photos’ album in the Photos app.

When you enter the quiz task, Firefly Pix will present you six different types of quiz:
-picture to spelling

-pronunciation to spelling
-pronunciation to picture

Recording:
When you enter the recording task, Firefly Pix will present you recording and playback function for practicing the pronunciation. You can also switch the language too. Tap on the picture, you can change the picture.
